6th Graders - There's a social coming up soon! The social will be held in cafeteria.
Take a look! #WeAreRHMS

RHMS Track competed well at South Effingham Monday. Most athletes placed top tier in their events. Our next home meet will be Wednesday March 9th @ 4:00. Come out to support the Wildcats!

Congratulations to our Athletes of the Week, Taylor Selph and Owen Wright.
Taylor is a fierce competitor. She takes every practice like it is a game. There is no slacking at practice for Taylor. She goes all out the entire time. She is intimidating, she is fast, she is skilled, and she has an excellent shot. Taylor does not say much at practice but leads with her work ethic.
Owen is new to RHMS, bus has already made a positive impact on the soccer team and in class. He is a positive player who always seems to be in a good mood. Owen did not let an injury slow him down and has pushed through and played tough at practice.
Congrats Taylor and Owen. #WeAreRHMS

World Down Syndrome Day is quickly approaching. Wear your silly socks on Monday, March 21st. We wear mix-matching socks on World Down Syndrome Day since the chromosomes themselves are shaped like a pair of socks. The idea of a fun pair of socks helps shine light and embrace those with Down syndrome. #WeAreRHMS

Congratulations to our Athletes of the Week, Svara Patel and Anthony Whitney!
Svara is an amazing first year lacrosse player. She is flexible and aggressive in all field positions. She also plays goalie. She brings humor to practice which everyone appreciates. She is no nonsense on the field and is not intimated at all by girls who have been playing longer than her. She is a very impressive rookie and we are so grateful to have her on our team.
Way to go, Athletes! #WeAreRHMS

Members of RHMS's ecological studies program (Field Studies) receive training to become state-certified water quality monitors for Georgia Adopt-a-Stream. Students were required to attend a 3 hour class where they learned about different water quality parameters and how to use water quality testing equipment. All students must pass a rigorous test with a score of 86 or above in order to become certified. RHHS and RHMS students affiliated with Georgia AAS are some of the youngest in the state.

Students in the Guardians of the Galaxy pod are researching, designing, and building owl, bat, and Wood Duck houses using funds from a Coastal Electric Cooperative Bright Ideas Grant. The project is to provide these shelters for these animals whose habitat has been affected by commercial and residential development in Bryan County. Students received training on the use of certain power tools and were under close staff supervision during this process.

RHMS - Don't forget, our PTSO is sponsoring a raffle for an amazing trip. The class with the most raffle tickets sold by Thursday morning (2/24/22) wins a pizza party! Both in person and online sales count toward the party! Here is the link to purchase tickets.
