Notice of Property Tax Increase

The Bryan County Board of Education has tentatively adopted a 2019 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 2.56 percent.

\r\n


All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Bryan County School District Central Office, 8810 US Highway 280 E, Black Creek, GA on July 11, 2019 at 11:00 am and 6:00 pm.

Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the Richmond Hill Community Education Building, 120 Constitution Way, Richmond Hill, GA on July 25, 2019 at 5:00 pm.

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 15.075 mills, an increase of .376 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 14.699 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $200,000 is approximately $29.32 and the proposed tax increase for non-homesteaded property with a fair market value of $175,000 is approximately $26.32.
