Wildcat Pride: Teacher Edition

Richmond Hill High School loves to recognize the hard work of its teachers. Each week, a teacher is selected by their peers to win the weekly Wildcat Award! Each week's winner gets to proudly display "The Wildcat" in their classrooms.

This week's winner is Mrs. Mary Jo Fina! The teacher who nominated her had this to say: "The best part of winning “The Wildcat” is the opportunity to nominate someone to get it after you, and I am thrilled to get to nominate the one, the only, Mrs. Mary Jo Fina! How do we have a faculty award and Mrs. Fina not win it?! Mrs. Fina’s contributions to RHHS go far beyond what could be written about her in this short space but I will try to highlight just a few things! First, Mrs. Fina leads our very successful Healthcare Science pathway in our CTAE program. This pathway has shown continuous growth over the years with Mrs. Fina leading it and it is one of our most popular elective choices! Her students move on to various educational and career opportunities in the healthcare profession once they complete the program! Mrs. Fina organizes blood drives and disaster drills that are hosted here at RHHS. Mrs. Fina was recently selected as a WTOC top teacher, which I believe was started by a student nominating her (which shows what her students think of her)! Mrs. Fina also has a kind, caring heart as she made her own masks to give to family, friends, and RHHS faculty during the pandemic. She will check in with you to make sure you’re okay and see if you need help with anything. If the world was full of Mrs. Finas, it would be a great place!"

Thank you, Mrs. Fina, for all you do for RHHS!

Go Wildcats!
