During February, Black History and CTAE month, I would like to recognize Oprah Winfrey for her contribution to the marketing profession. Oprah Winfrey is a broadcaster, publisher, and philanthropist. She is big in the entertainment industry. At age 17, she started broadcasting at radio station WVOL. Then two years later at 19, she was a tv anchor at WTVF-TV. This was a big moment for her because she was the first African American woman as well as the youngest person to do this.  Oprah also has her own show, been in movies, covered on magazines, has a lifestyle website, a foundation, and books. Oprah was the first black woman to achieve billionaire status. This month, and throughout the year, I encourage you to consider who you admire and how they have impacted the world in which we live, learn, and work. As for me, I'm thankful for the ability to learn about these amazing people. Submitted by Caroline Taylor, BCHS Marketing Student
