Registration Information for 

Bryan County Pre-K 

2020-2021

     

Students are chosen to attend Bryan County PreK by a lottery drawing. Registration for the lottery began on Monday, March 2, 2020 and end on Friday, April 30, 2020.  

Due to the world health crisis, the PreK registration window was extended to better serve our families across the county. 

  

We have developed new dates for the 2020-2021 PreK lottery process.

Friday, May 1st – Tuesday, May 5th ~ All registration applications finalized internally

Wednesday, May 6th ~ Lottery numbers assigned to each child and letters printed

Thursday, May 7th ~ Assigned lottery number notification letters mailed out to parents via USPS

Tuesday, May 12th ~ Lottery via computer software randomizer program (due to social distancing restrictions)

~ Lottery results will be posted on each school’s website

Thursday, May 14th ~ Lottery result notification letters mailed out to parents via USPS

Thank you for your patience as we process your applications and we work through this new lottery procedure. 

    

Students who live in Bryan County must be registered for the PreK within their districted area. There is one school with PreK in North Bryan - Lanier Primary School. There are three schools in Richmond Hill that house PreK - Richmond Hill Primary School, McAllister Elementary School, and Frances Meeks Elementary School. South Bryan residents will register under the school for which they are zoned for.  Here is a map for attendance lines.

  
Once the online application has been successfully submitted, a confirmation email will be sent with further details.  If you are having issues with the online form or need a computer to use, each school has a registration station that you may use.  Registration may be completed by using a smartphone as well.

  

Once the registration portal closes, parents with correctly completed submissions will be USPS mailed a confirmation letter with detailed information regarding the lottery.

   

If your child's immunizations are not current or were last issued in another state, call to schedule an appointment with your child's health care provider or the Bryan County Health Department. Be sure to call for immunization appointments at least 2-3 weeks in advance to ensure that your child's immunizations are received prior to the registration window. 

  

All first time Pre-Kindergarten students are required to have a Certificate of Vision, Hearing, Dental, and Nutritional Screening (Form 3300). You may choose to have your child's health care provider conduct this exam, or the exam may also be completed at the Bryan County Health Department. The Health Department charges for this exam. The Health Department will conduct the exams on 3-year-old children. However, many private physicians and dentists will not complete this exam until the child has turned 4 years of age. If you plan to use the Health Department, please go ahead and complete this step now.    

   

Our Military families that are PCS-ing into the area who have not obtained residency as of the registration window, may register for the Richmond Hill Primary School lottery.  They will need to put their current address in and will upload their PCS orders in lieu of the residency documents.  The arrival date MUST be prior to the first day of school and residency MUST be obtained by the first day of school. All residency documents must be on file at the school to retain the PreK seat at RHPS.  The medical forms (form 3300 and form 3231) need to be completed using the actual Georgia medical forms so families will need to wait until they can have a licensed Georgia medical professional complete them.

Registration for the waitlist is open.   
You may register online anytime using the portal.  

Please note the PreK Lottery Registration deadline was April 30, 2020 at 11:59pm. 

Any registrations after that date will be for the PreK Waitlist.

   

Be sure to have the following completed and ready to go BEFORE you start your registration:

A. Original certified birth certificate copy

B. Residency Affidavit (downloaded from the BCS website or from the portal)

C. Proof of Residency – Residency is established by providing:

> Current month lease agreement (GA Realtor signed rental lease or Notarized generic lease) or home purchase agreement or mortgage (REQUIRED)

AND one of the following:

  • Current month utility bill or document verifying utility services established for primary residence
  • Current year Medicaid card
  • Current year Department of Family & Children Services documents
  • Previous year or most recent tax return

D. Child’s Social Security Card copy

E. Parent Photo Identification (i.e. driver's license, passport, military ID)

G. Child’s Immunization Record* (Form 3231) and Eye, Ear, and Dental* (EED-Form 3300)
*If forms are ready, they may be included in the registration. Forms are available from the Bryan County Health Department (756-2611 or 653-4331) or the child’s doctor.
