MAP, or the Measure of Academic Progress, is a computerized adaptive test that helps teachers, parents, and administrators improve learning for all students and make informed decisions to promote a child's academic growth. All students grades 6-8 will take MAP.
When will my student be tested and how often?
BCMS students will take their first MAP test at the start of the academic year, usually during the month of August. Students will also test in the winter and the spring.
How will the MAP test results be used?
MAP is used to measure a student's progress or growth in school. The results will inform teachers of a student's strengths and weaknesses in Reading and Mathematics content. Teachers will use this information in order to help better meet each student's individual learning needs.
