Recent School Awards

Recently Bryan County Elementary School was recognized by Writing To Win as an Exemplary School of Writing based on the 5th grade writing scores for the 2008-2009 school year

Bryan County Elementary is pleased to accept the Silver Award from the State Department of Education.  BCES received the award for having exceptional gains on the CRCT last year.  Only 110 schools in the state of Georgia were honored for having such significant gains in scores. Schools that show great improvement in CRCT scores and have a significant percentage of students who exceed standards on the test are chosen.  In order to be eligible for the award a school must have met AYP for two consecutive years, have at least 25% of the student body exceeding standards on the CRCT, and be at or above the 96th percentile of greatest gains.

We would like to thank the students for all of their hard work, the parents for all of their support and involvement, and our staff for working diligently all year to make this award possible.  It truly takes a community effort to make gains like these.  Thanks for everyone's hard work and support.  We look forward to even greater gains this year.
