Several Carver 4th and 5th grade students recently participated in the Bryan County Tech Fair held here in Richmond Hill, GA. Some participants moved on to compete at the regional level in Statesboro, GA. The Dabbs, Hickman, Hill & Cannon, LLC Regional Student Technology Fair is one of 16 preliminary technology fairs in the state. This Bulloch County event is open to all home-schooled, public or private-school students in third through twelfth-grade from Bulloch and surrounding counties of Bryan, Candler, Effingham, Emanuel, Evans, Jenkins, and Screven. First-place winners of the Regional Fair are moving on to compete at the Georgia Student Technology Fair. Congratulations to Carver's 2019 first-place winners. The following students will go on to compete in the state in the spring: Julianna Shorette (Device Modification), Eliana King (Game Design), Niamh Theisen and Sullivan Flannery (Animation).
All technology fair participants have reason to stand straight and walk proud. Each participant was expected to build a technology project of interest from a given set of categories, set it up, demonstrate and bravely present their project and knowledge to a panel of judges. Ms. Houck and Mrs. Sriratanakoul were proud to help represent a group of such dedicated and mannerly students who conducted themselves respectfully, showed support and good sportsmanship during the competition and fair presentations.
